Letter of the week ~ I ~ Ice Painting

All right, this one is pretty messy.  Of course I know you’re not afraid of a little mess. . .are you?  Do a little set up ahead of time and the mess seems so much less messy.

what you’ll need: Letter I ~ construction paper ~ tempera paint ~ ice cube tray

I filled an old ice cube tray with paint (only about 1/2 full).  I let them freeze overnight, then popped out the ice paint cubes ready for Little M’s masterpiece.

I know how Little M operates so I had a big piece of extra paper ready to go.  Once she finished the I she moved on and created a gorgeous, colorful picture.

Tips: 1. This activity doesn’t really work when it is hot out, the ice melts too fast.  2.Talk about the letter I while your little one is working.   3. Give this one a try yourself.  The colors are so bright and fun.
